Some thoughts on annual reports.

Saturday, May 16th, 2009

I’ve read a lot of annual reports for metals stocks over the past month or two, most all sent to me via Canada Post, thanks to having taken delivery of shares. Own a single share, get a hard copy of the report. Each contains an introductory letter to shareholders from the CEO discussing the past year’s performance and the outlook going forward.

Of course, you expect any CEO to talk his book. But of them all, the CEO that best lays out the path for gold for the next few years, in general terms, is Rudi Fronk of Seabridge Gold. Check out pages 8-10, from the heading “The Gold Market” to the end. This alligns with my views. But I suppose I’m talking my book. In any case, a great company.

Whether or not Seabridge is a good buy at present, at one point it had roughly quintupled from its October 2008 low, I offer no opinion. If I had to guess, I would say one might expect a lower entry point will present itself over the next couple months. Who knows. In any case, I am betting on it being siginificantly, i.e., multiples, higher over the next two to three years. It is highly leveraged to the price of gold, with one of the lowest market capitalizations per ounce of gold in the ground, has huge bulk tonnage deposits with total all-category resources in the area of 60 million ounces of gold, and its principal property is in Canada, unquestionably politically stable, and perhaps the world’s premier mining-friendly jurisdiction.

This is not investment advice. I know less than nothing. Always do your own due dilligence before making any investment decision.

My prediction that anyone could see coming.

The making of a week’s liquid meals. In stages.

Sunday, May 10th, 2009

Stage 1:

Stage 2:

Stage 3:

Mmm.

Ingredients:

2oz pasteurized liquid egg whites, organic are available
1tbs organic coconut milk
2tbs organic half and half, raw if available
filtered water to make 2/3 cup
.5tsp organic almond butter
100cc (~37.18g) chocolate flavored whey protein isolate
~1/24tsp organic ground cinnamon
Mix prior to adding remaining ingredients.

.5tsp organic flax oil
.5tsp organic hemp oil
1.5tsp organic olive oil
1.5tsp organic coconut oil

Then, immediately prior to drinking, mix in:
25-35cc (depending on anticipated activity level/caloric expenditure until next meal) instantized oat powder

Glass jars
Lids (remove the white inserts before using, otherwise these can’t be cleaned sufficiently thoroughly, and must be replaced every two weeks or so for purposes of gut rot avoidance)

Drink four times daily, every 2′20″. Contains ~453-472 calories. Scale to your caloric needs. Have a wholesome breakfast and dinner. Talk to your doctor before beginning a program of physical exercise. Including getting out of bed in the morning. Not to be used by minors. Or one-eyed albino lepers named Pete, Bob, or Margarita.

Be strong. Be lean. Kick ass.

Gather all the chilluns’ ’round.

Today’s derby winner is tomorrow’s glue. Or, as Will Rogers put it, “Even if you’re on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there.”
